To every thing there is a season

Ecclesiastes 3:1 is a wonderful verse on understanding the complexities of life. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:". When reading this verse, my mind is drawn to I Peter 4:12, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:".

Often times, when the trials of life come our way, we feel as though we are going through something that no one else ever has gone through. We often feel (whether we'll admit it or not), that God is picking on us. But, we must remember that the storms of life will come to all. It's not about the storm, but the God of the storm. When trials and difficulty come our way, we must understand, God is not allowing things to happen just for His amusment, but for our good. The negative things in life are to bring us closer to the Lord, turn our eyes to Him and teach us to lean on Him. I'm sure there are many other reasons, but I've found these to be some of the very reasons I've faced the storms. Also let me add, sometimes bad things happen just because we live in a sinful, wicked world. Human nature always wants someone or something to blame for our problems. But, the reality is, we don't live in a perfect world and aren't promised smooth sailing to Heaven. Sin is real and the effects are seen all around us.

May we always remember, God wants the best for His children. Sometimes to achieve this goal, correction and instruction come in many shapes and forms, but are necessary for our growth.

Until the next time, keep looking UP
